Memo to Heat: So You Wanted to a Yankee? The current Miami Heat situation kind of reminds me of the New York Yankees over the years. You have players from other teams
who for years watched the Yanks playing well into October, who finally realize their dream of playing in pinstripes. Only
then to realize that just wearing the uniform and playing with other great players doesn't get it done alone. You have to
fight for it. When you're a Yankee, you don't sneak up on your opponents. Your opponents mark their calendars. No one is going
to lay down and anoint you a champion. The public perception is that a number of Heat players thought they were just coming
along for the ride. Not to take part in a struggle. Which in the process could involve getting your butt kicked every
now and then, with some people from the outside looking in actually liking it. It's not reasonable for the hunted to
seek sympathy, for chances are it will not be found. Lebron's painful process has shifted from Cleveland to Miami. A
process that's thankfully not a life or death situation, but maybe just enough to make you want to cry.
